About
Fran Delaney is a non-binary lesbian artist based in the north. They primarily theme their work on the mystical and fantastical, having been previously inspired by books such as the Grimm’s Fairy Tales and the Rainbow Magic series. In doing so they prefer creating more surreal imagery using a mix of digital, watercolour or ink mediums with a dark rich colour palette heavily inspired by Medieval tapestries and their framing of characters. They taught themselves most of their own techniques whilst studying at LAU and MMU and hopes to study a masters later on.
Fran usually focuses on the female figure and femininity as a construct, wanting to deep dive into girl and womanhood through their work due to growing up as female and eventually embracing their femininity as life went on. As their work continue to develops they hope to eventually start learning how to tattoo, embracing the body as a whole whilst permanently etching femininity onto bodies.
